Hello Guys and Gals,
I've seen TOG members around for a while in various games that I've played and always found them to be helpful and courteous of others. The kind of players that never bring drama but still bring a social element to gaming. That's the kind of people that make gaming fun. While in the past I've always had rl mates to play with, more recently we've gone in different directions with our gaming due to rl time restrictions and likes / dislikes in games. Therefore I thought I'd check out the TOG website and to be honest, I knew TOG was big, but never realised it was this big or diverse... Anyway that's why I decided it was time to app to TOG. From what I can see no matter what game I want to play there will always be a group of mature yet fun players involved that I can join.
My current gaming is rather restricted. I played WoW for way too long but recently quit. For online gaming I'm back playing TF2, including a bit of time on the TOG server, while waiting for something more worthwhile to come out whether it be a decent RTS, FPS or MMO.
My first gaming experiences were on Atari's owned by friends but the first gaming machine I owned was a Commodore 64 with games that came on cartridges or used the tape deck before getting a disk drive. Played a lot of different titles but probably spent the most time on AD&D: Pools of Radiance. After that it was PCs while at Uni where Warcraft became a favourite. Later I met a great bunch of guys who did regular LANs together which originally started with UT04, which was the first online game I played and saw the TOG tag, and another favourite was Dawn of War. Further down the track we all played WoW together although I stayed a lot longer than others in that one.
It was from UT04 that I got my tag from mates. When we started playing online they thought I talked more then I played and so they started calling me Chatbot, the name stuck and so I started using it for my tag. Why fight it... lol It's been a few years since then and I don't use the mic as much... but that's the origins for the tag.
Anyway, I've bored you all enough. See you all online...
