Hi,

Well, I had just finished another game of TF2 on a public server, leaving a little frustrated with the people on there, thinking "maybe i can find a clan of casual players, that would increase my enjoyment of the game"... so i head over to where else but google, and search for "Australia TF2 Casual Team" and a post pops up about "When Girl meets TF2"... After reading it, I decided that I'd see if i could join. It sounded like a really nice place. So after reading the FAQ, CoS etc, Here i am.

1. What games are you currently play/looking to play with TOG?

Well, I love my FPS games, and TF2 and L4D are currrently my favourite. I would buy L4D2 however after christmas shopping and buying tickets for me and my girlfriend to go see the folks for christmas, i'm sortof trying to save all the money i can at the moment. I also play CS:S from time to time, although i have to get in the hang of it every time i start playing.

2. What was the first gaming console you own or pen and paper game you played?

I first owned a 386 computer and/or a Nintendo (cant remember which one came first) The nintendo was one with the cartridges slightly larger than a 5 /14" disk and about 2cm thick, where you inserted it and then pushed the whole cartridge down before turning the console on. As for pen and paper games, (assuming you mean boardgames also?) i quite enjoy playing games like Axis and Allies and Roborally... A friend of mine collects boardgames and he's the main person i play with.

Why do you want to join TOG?

Well, As i mentioned at the beginning, Sometimes i get a little frustrated at Public servers. (depending on what game) People don't look at class balances, they blame other people for silly things, and they do things that don't help the team out. Simply put, they don't understand how a team works, and how everyone must contribute to win, and when everything goes well (even if you do lose) you always have a lot of fun. To me, Gaming isn't about winning, its about having a lot of fun. TOG appeals to me because it sounds like a mature community whose values align with my own. I'm only a casual gamer due to my job, but i wouldn't mind joining in with competitions and such when i can.

Tell us about yourself or anything else you'd like to share.

Well, I'm a 25 year old guy living in Darwin, NT, Australia, with my girlfriend, two dogs and 3 rats. I also have one of my best friends staying with me on a working holiday to darwin. I was born and bred in perth and south West Australia (Mt Barker/Albany) before joining The Royal Australian Navy in 2001. My job is a "Communications and Information Systems" sailor, and I'm currently the sole communications/IT sailor on the boat (HMAS Balikpapan, the oldest boat in the fleet (http://www.navy.gov.au/Current_Ships)) Outside of work I have recently bought a 1988 Suzuki sierra as my fourth car (First one was a 1977 Chrysler lancer, died from a hole in the head. second one was a 1998 Holden Rodeo which hydraulic'd itself during a river crossing once, third one was a 2000 Suzuki Grand Vitara which i recently sold) and am currently "doing it up" as an extreme 4WD. I love camping and fishing, especially when it involves going down 4wd tracks and/or making 4wd tracks to get to the really secluded spots. (note: I always try to ensure minimal damage is done to the environment whilst doing this, and won't go through if it will do too much damage (normally would take too much effort to get a car through in that situation anyway))

Well, Thanks for reading my application, I hope to join your ranks soon
