Default Membership Application (BF2142)

Hello all,

My Name's Ben, I'm 25 and living in Canberra, Australia. Have been playing 2142 for years now, but never made a move to a clan. I plan on trying Fallen Earth when I get around to it, and used to play WoW and for a time Aion.

My first console was a Sega Genesis, which I recieved as a christmas present when the 64 came out, and ever since then I'd been one step behind the console generations. Until I bought a PSP, not that it really counts. Have a Wii and an N64 as well now, and for computing power have a PC to game on and a Mac to work on, though the power of the Mac (6 months old) FAR outweighs the PC (5 years old).

I want to join TOG for two reasons. Firstly because I'm sick of groups (like the guilds in WoW) that are unfortunately filled with people going on and on about how they pwned some noob, or something similar and generally acting like 10 year olds. I'm hoping to find like-minded mature gamers who want to play the game as it is and not use it as a shotbox to put other people down or make themselves look almighty.

Secondly I have been playing Battlefield 2142 for a while now (on and off due to mood swings brought on by being Bi-polar) and have gotten to the point where I'd like to learn some Commander skills. However after a couple of REALLY bad incidents where I was thrown into the thick of it during Suez Titan, I decided that having a clan behind me helping with HUD interfaces and general tactics might not be a bad idea.

As far as when I game, I work full time 9-5 sun-mon and 2-10 tues-thurs. So I'm generally on either before work or after depending on when I have the most time free. THat said sometimes I havea bad day and need to take it out on a titan, so occasionally log in around 11pm East Australia time for a couple of hours. Friday is generally my day to game and get some hours in in the afternoon/evening.

I work in a cinema for my main income, I illustrate children's books on the side, and I have a Bachelor of Visual Art majoring in Photomedia behind me. I'm a bit of a sci-fi lover, as well as a great fan of Monty Python, Bill Bailey, Billy Connolly, Eddie Izzard, and for that matter most of the comedians that come from the British Isles. I drink spirits instead of beer, love savoury food mixed with sweet (blame the Americans for putting Maple Syrup on my bacon...) and have always grown up with really ugly pets (two boxers and a Bulldog). I have lived for four years in the U.S. and two in the U.K. whilst spending the rest of my time in Australia and moving house no less than 28 times (kinda lost count).

Hope this is enough information for you all.

Stay Groovy,

Benzio

great line-up! I'm a huge fan of most of those, and Eddie Izzard! I only discovered him a few years back - one of the cleverest, funniest comedians of all time

Thanks for the welcome guys. Yeah, I too only discovered Eddie in the last couple of years, had seen little bits here and there before then, but bought "Definite Article" and have been hooked since.

And thanks muchly for the links, they've been a great help. It took me a few hours of searching outside this site just to find out that the commander's hud can be brought up by caps-lock. And the guides here look pretty good so far.
