Hello.
To save trouble, for those who are trying to validate this application, you can reject it immediately. I'm not 25 or older; rather, I'm 17.
I decided to come here after some serious deliberation with other MMO gamers. I know I'm not going to be welcomed with open arms (and seeing how there really isn't any other place for introductions for non-full-membership-eligible TOG members), and my current position doesn't render me able to play a large variety of games, but here goes.
What games are you currently play/looking to play with TOG?
A good number of F2P MMOs, RPGs, and RTSs. Maybe FPS when Bad Company 2 decides to release.
What was the first gaming console you own or pen and paper game you played?
An NES, complete with two controllers and a light-gun. Only game I had was Super Mario Bros. and Duck Hunt both together on one cartridge. Much fun to be had in those days. There were also a number of cartridges laying around my house from the Atari 2600 (which I could never find, mysteriously).
Why do you want to join TOG?
Simply put, I am utterly tired of my generation. I can't hold a single serious gaming conversation with anyone of my age unless I happen to bring the words "Modern Warfare" or "World of Warcraft" up. It's really quite annoying. In addition to that, a good majority of my generation seem to be more akin to the monkey genealogy tree than they do to humans. I'm looking for maturity; gamers that have been around since the beginning of gaming, people who know what REAL games are (not that the new ones these days are any bad, just looking for people to play with who aren't complete children who are trying to flex their profanity muscle, actually know what the meaning of the word respect means, and don't try to start trouble much with others).
Tell us about yourself or anything else you'd like to share.
I'm a PC gamer at heart. My origins may have started with the NES, which lasted with me for the first 4-6 years of my life, but my father (being a computer technician) introduced me to the computer. I haven't been able to switch over since (some reasons which I will explain). I don't really favor consoles since the flame-war between them seems obsolete to me; I prefer to just play the games that I like; but on top of that, my current age prevents from being able to spend much on anything frivolous (and hence, lack of credit card in order to sign up for P2P MMOs and buy new games on launch day, and my parents aren't really too keen about my gaming habit).
My personal preference are RPGs/MMOs, which I started playing in 2004 after finally convincing my parents to upgrade to high-speed internet. I've played MUDs, know what a "Rogue-like" is, and own the original (the original) Warcraft. I'm not that special, by far, but I'd rather say I got my roots in gaming from a different place.
