Arrow Full member application

Currently playing - HoN/DOTA (PC), MAG (PS3), Dragon Age: Origins (PC), Mass Effect 2 (PC), Wipeout HD (PS3), Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 (PS3)

I started gaming on the Atari 2600 and Colecovision in the 80s. I worked my way up through all the Nintendo and Sega consoles, got into PC gaming on a Zenith with 5.25" floppies playing Rogue and that sort. I played through dozens of RPGs (primarily Squaresoft stuff like the Final Fantasies, and no not just 7), fighters everywhere from SF2 to Virtua Fighter to Soul Calibur and Tekken. I love strategy games like C&C, Warcraft 1-3, Starcraft, Mech Commander, Myth 1-3, and many others. I got into FPS's with Wolfenstein, Doom and Duke Nukem, all the Quakes, Tribes 1/2, Half Life + associated mods, the various incarnations of Unreal, Battlefield 1942/DC/2, all the Call of Duty's. I started playing MMOs with Everquest in 1999, DAoC, Planetside, FFXI, WoW, Vanguard, AoC, and probably a few others I am forgetting. I think the only type of game I haven't kept a thorough knowledge of are the various sports games. I have kept up with console gaming throughout, but currently only own a PS3.

I love video games, the community surrounding this culture, and the social aspect of gaming. I have been looking for a group of people to play my current games with, to talk about gaming with, and to try new things as they develop. I am looking for intelligent, respectful, and fun people to associate with, and I believe TOG is the right place to find these characteristics. I'm only 26, which is young by this group's standards, but I'm definitely not a kid and I would like to be part of a community that values the same things as I do in their gaming life.

I owned and ran a LAN gaming center for 2 years which I sold a year ago to focus more on band stuff. I currently tour about 4-6 months a year in a hardcore/punk band, and I am an avid reader of Penny Arcade. I once beat Super Mario Bros 1 with my toes.

I tried out LoL in beta, but I didn't take the time to learn it the way I already knew DOTA and HoN.

Fair enough. I've tried HoN recently and had a couple of games, but I just couldn't get into it.

The game is great, plenty of champions to choose from, the graphics are top notch and the combat is very polished. The things that really turned me off it, was the vast array of items to buy from coupled with a very unintuitive system and the overall feel of the game is very cluttered.

LoL has me in it's clutches now, probably because I have a few RL mates that I play with and it's great fun.

Anyways, welcome to TOG and see you around
