WOW! I stumbled across a thread about TOG on the STO (Star Trek Online) forums, and I had to come see what it was all about. I was thrilled to find that there's plenty of other "older" gamers like me! YAY! It's about time I found y'all :P
Now for the intro stuff...
I am currently hooked on STO, but I've found most people on there somewhat stuffy. So, if there are a few people looking for a new pal, that would be awesome. I'm about to become a Lt. Commander, so I'm still pretty much starting out. Don't worry, I don't ask moronic questions (where's Sulu!?), and I'm not a beggar

Amalthea@Odeteka is my in game name.
The only other game I play somewhat religiously is MapleStory. I've only found one other person of comparable age on there, so it'd be lovely to have new friends there also. I'm a level 92 Priest named Amalthea76 in Windia if you want to look me up.
Wow...my first gaming console would have to be some form of Atari. I remember playing Frogger until my eyes nearly bled. My stepfather was obsessed with computers as far back as the Vic-20, but I can't remember any games on that one. I played games like Kings Quest and Leisure Suit Larry (lol, of all things) on the Commodore 64 or 128 (can't recall which, it's been a few years after all). Any of y'all remember the Amiga? He was a huge Amiga enthusiast until he finally gave up in the mid to late 90's. Also, my grandparents bought the first Nintendo console for my brother and I. I still can't get the Zelda theme song out of my head.
Um, I'd like to join TOG because I'm *VERY* tired of being called "Mom" by the majority of my "friends" in the games I play online (mainly MapleStory). Seriously. It gets old.
Other stuff I'd like to share? Hmmm... Well, I'm a 33 year old single mom (1 kiddo), and I'm about to start college again after a couple of years away (oops!). I'm an Art History major, planning on eventually getting a masters degree so I can either teach Art History at college level (most likely community college) or work in an art museum (pipe dream!). Most of all, I'm just trying to get through each day raising my daughter, and keeping myself entertained in between the crap that life throws at us all.
Oh, one other thing, Odeteka is a nickname given to me by my best friend, it's silly, but always available so I've stuck with it. I also use Amalthea, when available, and you get bonus points if you know where I got the name! :P
