Imagine the combined aroma of fish and chips, and melting icecream. Mysex computer games is playing on the radio. BMX is new, well new in small town New Zealand, 1980 I recon. And standing in the corner, with a group of boys crowding around. Space Invaders. No one is eating ice cream, all the 'twenties' are going up in a row on the face of the machine, booked up an hour in advance. Prior to this technical wonder all we had was our imaginations and the D&D rule books.
I'd discovered the life changing world of video games. I don't even remember the name of the first console that the family plugged into the tele, I can't find it searching online either. One of the many that didn't survive into the pages of history i guess. Taking my $1.50 pocket money, on Friday night, down to the 'Gobble'n'Go' playing Xevious and Defender(all time arcade fav). Actually one time the Defender broke down and they brought it down to my fathers shop to fix it and I got to play Defender for free, bliss.
I'm playing BC2 on PC and NBA Live10 on 360. and wanna play here in Australia, I'm in Melbourne, with gamers whose reflexes, like mine, have been blunted by time. You guys gotta let me be king for the day though when I turn 40 in May.
I'm a music producer to earn a crust and my gaming rig plays back through my studios monitor speakers for extra audio magnificence.

Actually as a side note I watched 'A New Hope' for the first time in a while the other day. It's got utterly magnificent sound design, and of course the sound track is legendary too.
Ok that's me. Hope to join the ranks of TOG soon.
