TOG - The Older Gamers

Hi to all my fellow "Older" Gamers out there.

I live in Minnesota, where there is plenty of time for gaming (and any other indoor pursuits) in the Winter, so that's when most of my gaming happens, and then mostly on weekends.

I do PC gaming exclusively, and I started out with a game called "Eagle's Nest" almost 20 years ago. After that came Castle Wolfenstein, and then the best FPS ever, DOOM. It was with DOOM that I started gaming with my son, and then eventually my youngest daughter also joined in. Since about the time they could use a mouse and keyboard, I've been building computers and playing games with my kids - DOOM, Quake, Diablo II, HALO, etc. - and also getting my son and his friends together to setup a network and do multi-player (we first did this with 4 PCs on a ThinNet LAN in our basement in 1994, playing DOOM until dawn).

These days, I'm playing Guild Wars, CSS, COD4, TF2 (I always play a Medic), Far Cry 2, and whatever other new games my son and his friends get into. A few times a year I still get together with my daughter (who's in college), my son (who's married), and all his geek friends, for a LAN party that usually has about 30 people attending, and lasts until close to dawn. My wife of 30 years could not be less interested in gaming, but she enjoys cooking for the LAN parties.

I guess I've taken up enough server space with my first post. Hope to be accepted as a member, and to meet up with some of you on-line or in-game.
