Hi,
Call me Garn. That was the name of a D&D character I made when I was 10 (Half-Ogre Fighter, very appropriate for someone who was 10). My first console was a cushion on the flight deck of the couch-spaceship I'd build in my living room. I then moved on to:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telstar_Combat! and eventually Atari 2600, 800, and 520 ST. The list goes on.
My immediate reason for joining is to get into The Osgiliath Guard on LOTRO's Elendilmir Server. I have a lvl 47 Guardian and am just reaching the areas where raids are available, plus after 2 months of play, I'd like to get experience with more group play so that I can really see how bad my aggroing is. Getting some pro advice would also be most excellent.
In addition, I play a little MW2, Blood Bowl (PC version, haven't won a game yet) and have a deep background in Guild Wars, where I wasted vast amounts of time faction farming and now drop by for an occasional evening in RA.
I'm 37 and teach English in Korea as of now, but my field allows me to live and work in a lot of different places, so I may be moving later this year. Again, this is a great reason to join TOG, so I can have a large group of people from all over to game with.
Last but not least, any experienced gamer knows the pains of joining a new game and having to wallow about looking for a decent group to hang with. TOG seems like an opportunity to streamline that whole process and have a more permanent friend base to collectively milk every last dram of enjoyment outta these games.
I believe I've set all my settings properly. Over to you.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
