Talking Full Membership Application - Crunchystyle

Greetings,

My buddy and I met some nice folks from TOG while playing Mortal Online. I think this is the kind of group I've been looking to join.

I'm 40 years old. I have a wife and two sons. My oldest son is 25 (don't bother with the math... I was 16. and my youngest is 11. My entire family enjoys playing video games. I'm currently playing Mortal Online, My wife plays Yoville (yurk!), my oldest plays Halo, and my youngest plays whatever has cool guns and lots of blood in it--Left 4 Dead, COD, Borderlands, Army of Two, etc...

First gaming console was Pong. Seriously. We were the first house in our neighborhood to get it and, needless to say, we had a lot of visitors. I've also had a TI 99/4a computer on which I wrote my first BASIC program, a Commodore 64, Atari 2600 console, Atari 1024 ST computer, Amiga, Apple ][, ColecoVision, etc... I've owned most of the consoles out there. Oh, I also played pen & paper D&D with my buddies in middle school.

I like the idea of playing with other mature players. I like that cheating/hacking/sploiting isn't allowed. I like that players are expected to respect other players, regardless of their skill level. I want to show my youngest son that not all players "out there on the Internet" are childish, rude, or otherwise socially unacceptable.

I live in Las Vegas, NV, USA. I'm not much of a gambler, though. When I put a quarter in a machine, I expect a little more interaction than some spinning reels, flashing lights, or electronic dings.

I am a web developer by trade and a hobbyist game programmer. In addition to video games, I enjoy reading, watching movies, listening to music, banging on the drums, and spending time with my family.

If you got this far, thanks for reading all that. Looking forward to becoming a member.
