Introduction Thread - Aevadis
Hi, everyone. I hope to join TOG for Fallen Earth and most other games I make time for in the future. A bit about me:
I am 26 years old and living in PA with my significant other and our daughter. I last worked as a sort of assistant with classes and tutoring at the City University of New York, after finishing my MFA in Poetry at Columbia University. We moved out here for more space to raise our daughter, and it's very nice--much more peaceful than the city.
My favorite games of all time are Fallout 2, Arcanum, and Ultima Online, followed by other (largely isometric) RPGs from the 90s. I have played a huge number of RPGs, from Akalabeth to Fallout 3; incidentally, if we're talking series, the Fallout series and the Ultima series are my favorites. I was something like #10-#20 on Case's Ladder (playing by Kali) for Duke Nukem 3D when I was a kid, and I've always liked shooters as well . . . so Fallen Earth is a great game for me, and I've just started playing it. I don't have much time at all to play, but I enjoy it. It reminds me of the first months of UO--there's a widespread naivete I haven't seen in a long time. From time to time I still play UO on Hybrid (UOGamers), which is great fun but so scientized now that group synchronization is all that matters, and there's not much variety in the play. (And there are hacks being made constantly, which is a big problem in isometric games where everyone sees in all directions and can lock targets so easily . . . .)
Anyway, I'm looking forward to playing Fallen Earth with some of you, hopefully. Let me know.
Thanks,
Aevadis (in game)
