Hi chaps, I've been thinking about signing up here for the last half decade and finally decided to take the plunge. Main reason is that, after trawling the internet for years, I've only found three forums that interest me and also seem to take active steps to discourage general idiocy. TOG, of course, being one of them.
My gaming history goes back to a weird paddle-like device that had various knobs and turny things on it that, when plugged into the TV, let you play awesome games like pong and space invaders in glorious monochrome. I never really considered myself a "gamer" until about 15 years later when I moved from QLD to Perth and spent the money on transporting my 2 year old PC over with me (it had a 19" CRT and 6600GT man, tell me you wouldn't do the same). Before then I was simply in denial.
Currently I seem to be going through a non-thinking game stage. I have so many unfinished and uninstalled games that by the time I look through to find one I might want to play I don't really feel like playing it anymore. So I've been going for the quick-fix shots of gaming happiness like a few rounds of TF2 or just blowing some shit up in Mercenaries 2. The Wii and DS are also great for this. I put some of down to laziness due to having my PC hooked up to the TV and sitting on a beanbag to play it, but I'm hoping that getting stuck into the TOG community might help snap me out of it because I know there's so much more to gaming than that.
Oh I'm currently 30, living in Perth, WA and spending most of my disposable income on my PC, Wii and service station food. I have no pets and when I accidentally bump a hand against my leg when I'm walking I have to also bump my other hand against my other leg to even them out.
Also Pugs is awesome
