Hi,
I'm Dave, and a gameaholic. I've had this problem since I was about 4 and my parents bought an Atari 5200. I guess since my parents were gaming at the time, I just naturally picked up on the habit. At 8 I tried the NES and fell into the habit more. By the time I was 15 I was already into the heavier stuff; like Quake and Rainbow Six. My parents had cleaned up and stopped gaming by that time, and disapproved of my behavior, but I could not stop.
Now I am married and have two kids of my own- but I still game. I work in IT, and being around computers all day doesn't help. My income seems to only support my habit. I keep looking for faster loads, bigger screens, less lag. Kids nowdays don't understand what it's like to game in 8 bits, to have to search through bulletin boards to find online games. Todays games are easier for kids to pick up. If they aren't doing it yet, they have friends that do it and will someday ask them to try it.
That is why I would like to be a member of TOG. To be around people that understand what I am going through. Mature people who share my disease.
My name is Dave, and I'm a gamer.
