It's nice to finally find a haven for "older gamers." Generally I don't think of myself as an older gamer, mostly because my brother 10 years senior has been playing with me as long as I can remember, at the same time I don't really fit in with the 15 year old demographic.
I've been playing video games as long as I can remember, starting with a Famicom when I was 5 (oddly enough it's the only import I've ever owned), and then progressing through each successive console generation including Nintendo, Super Nintendo, Genesis, N64, Dreamcast (don't laugh), PS, PS2, XBOX, and XBOX 360. Along the way I've managed to stay tied to my computer gaming roots, always having a gaming PC ready at hand. I've been playing MMOs since UO, and I've played and/or tried most major MMOs such as EQ, EQ2, SWG, WoW, Aion, and now Mortal Online. The latest round of MMOs have been missing a lot of what UO and SWG brought to the table including solid communities where the goal wasn't just about collecting Pokeman. What I'm looking for is a community where I can interact with relatively mature people (I say relatively because we all have our moments), have some fun, and actually remember that we have real lives outside of the virtual world. So that's me. An avid gamer looking for a good group of people to enjoy the experience with! |
