Hello, all,
Let's see. I'm 45 (yikes), female, and a least one data point of evidence that the line between casual gamer/hardcore gamer is indeed crossable; as three years ago I was playing Peggle and brickbusters at work and had only a hazy idea there were other videogames. (I'm not really thick -- just too old to have grown up on video games, or anything close -- Doom 1 didn't come out until I was 28. Though we sprats did have Pong.

Now I spend waaaay too much time gaming, and have fierce opinions about the best MMO of all time and ATI vs. NVidia cards.
A PC gamer because, well, the way I got into gaming was noticing and trying the games on my PC and the free trials ubiquitous on the Web. Now since I mostly play FPSs (and the occasional survival-horror and one main MMO, with dabs at a couple of others), I can't see switching from mouse and keyboard to a console controller. Or just as likely prefer what I'm used to, and can't hope to get through most games for the PC, let alone in need of more to tackle.
Currently playing Dark Age of Camelot (the MMO mentioned); America's Army 2.8.5, which may be an MMO but not for me, yet, as I can't get past the Live Jump in Airborne Training for my life; Parabellum very occasionally; CoD4 & MW2, FEAR 2, & hopefully BFBC2 if I ever get to it. Plus various demos.
I'd read something about ya'll a couple of weeks ago, and found my way here via a link on Tom's Hardware's forums (where someone fed up with playing surrounded by hyperaggressive homophobic children asked about guilds/ groups of older gamers. A Captainhero posted the link.) Am delighted there is such a group and look forward to spending more time here and getting to know members. If permitted.
Cheers!
