i remember the excitement of the rubber-buttoned zx spectrum, the commodore vic 20 and subsequent 64, atari st and the one that seemed so impossible to own, the neo geo console ( the arcade in/on your tv!).
I am 34 and currently a LOTRO lifer. Im a level 62 hobbit guardian.
I cant wait for The old republic as i am a true 80's kid and will always be one. I wish i had kept those star wars toys, particularly remembering vader's personal tie fighter pilots ( the ones all in black). If i'd have kept them i may have a smaller mortgage than i do now.
I used to play allsorts, anyone remember yie-ar-kung-fu?! Spy vs spy? loading from cassette, then came the consoles, NES, SNES, SEEEEEGAAAAAAAA!, Sensible soccer, N64, playstation 1, 2, 3, XBOX is fairly new in comparison, like certain films that get re-made im seeing games i used to play getting remade using the newest technology, its all mad but i love it, i love to escape and its great to do it this way, im not sure when ill stop. As above im waiting for SWTOR which will be a massive event in my life im sure. I also dabble in Fable on the Xbox 360 and have spent many hours in the past, mostly when single, on football manager.
I want to join a kin where there are gamers that have been through the same journey as me - i count myself as fairly knowledgable and understanding of the games i am playing, but i want to know that i am alongside someone who i wont feel patronised by if i ask "whats a crit buff?, etc". i want to discuss 'the old times'. I want to deal with people that i dont feel guilty of letting down when my littlun comes home and i have to drop the game at that split second.
Im originally from nth London but now live in Hertfordshire. Im a Leeds united fan because of my father but my boy is being groomed as an Arsenal fan - we both have places on the Arsenal season ticket waiting list.
I am putting myself in the category of an 'older gamer' and i can say that i am proud - cheers for listening!
