Hello world

In the world of games I'm Gigah (and some may know me also as SpaceDok).

My gaming life began in 1976 (at that time I was 10 years in RL) with Pong which I played on a kind of console attached to our (not so flatscreen) TV. It was already addictive at that time.
Later on we got a Grundig TV with a special console to play Pong again but also shoot with a pistol on a targets flying over the screen.

Next step was a Philips G7000 game console (also known as the Magnafox OdyseeČ in the USA) with games like Baseball, American Football & Poker.

My first real home computer, or should I say game computer, was a Commodore VIC20 (3.5Kbyte RAM, 8 colours, resolution 176 x 184 (3bits), 3 channels sound ) which we bought in 1980. It was great. I played e.g. a lot of YellyMonsters (Pacman), Choplifter & Radar Rat Race and even made some simple games myself in Basic.

Next computer was a Commodore 64 in 1982. Favorite games: Jumpman, Olympic Games, international Karate & Impossible Mission and many more.

1986 I bought my Commodore Amiga 1000 and in 1992 an Amiga 4000 (which I both still have) and really played a lot of games on it. Most favorite where Test Drive, Falcon, Dungeon Master, Speedball, Formula One GP, etcetera, etcetera.. (I can go on for a long time). On these computers I first played multiplayer games (Amiga - Amiga with serial and/or parallel cables)

1994 was a sad year because of the bankruptcy of Commodore.

Second half of the nineties I bought my first Intel Pentium 200 MHz PC with the Windows 5.11 OS which evolved over time to my current PC with a Intel Core2Quad 2.66 GHz with Windows 7 64bit.

Popular games for me are...

MMORPG:
Current Vanguard: Saga of Heroes (since beta) & Mortal Online.
In the past Lineage II, Age of Conan & Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning

FPS: HalfLife series, TeamFortress 2, Max Payne, Battelfield 2142, BioShock

RTS & RPG:
Current Supreme Commander 2 & Dragon Age: Origins
In the past C&C, Red Alert series

Simulation: Falcon 4.0, GTR

Arcade: Need for speed series (part 1 up till Porsche Unleashed)

So here I am. 43 years old, a good job, living together with a nice girlfriend... and besides my other hobbies playing a lot of games.

I never heard of TOG until I started playing Mortal Online and I was pleased to discover this gamers community.
