Smile Membership Application

Hello Folks,

I am interested in joining TOG. Currently my spouse (simone here on the forums) is a member.

What games are you currently play/looking to play with TOG?

Currently, I play LOTRO on the Elendilmir server. I recently (a few months ago) moved away from the firefoot server due to an extremely low population and a general air of hostility towards not-knowing-all-things (tm).

My main character is a 65 Loremaster named Satskin. I also have a Runekeeper named Thoom.

I also have an Everquest account active which I play occasionally. My main there is Fasren.

What was the first gaming console you own or pen and paper game you played?

The first pen and paper game I played was AD&D, but I quickly switched to GURPS. I still like to play GURPS and have the latest sourcebooks, but finding other people who also play it in my area is proving quite challenging.

The first console I played extensively was an NES, but my first exposure to an electronic platform of my very own was a huge compaq with a flip-down keyboard and a built-in two tone monitor. It weighed a metric ton, but I fooled around on it for hours.

Why do you want to join TOG?

I want to join TOG because of the frustration my spouse and I experience trying to find a good bunch of friends online to run around with. MMO's are fun, sure, but ultimately it's the friendships that keep us coming back again and again after the million dungeon run.

Time and time again I got screamed at for not innately possessing knowledge of how to defeat every dungeon boss with finesse. To top that off, any kin or guild that would show me the ropes would demand a constant raid schedule through the whole week which a full time job simply doesn't accommodate.

I want people who have the patience to at least show me how to kill the boss ONE TIME, and who understand if I can't make the raid because I was on call all night and up to my ears in flaming servers. From the few times I've run with people from TOG they seem just that.

Tell us about yourself or anything else you'd like to share.

I do professional web development and tech support for a company based out of Indianapolis, Indiana. I thoroughly enjoy playing MMO's and the like with my wife, (Firedance on Elendilmir), programming, reading books, and playing pnp rpgs.

Greetings Satskin.
What you have outlined above is one of the core values within "The Guard".
We all understand that real life comes first and we have to fit our gaming in around that.
That said we do know how to make the most of our gaming time!

Be sure to pop your character names in the registration thread so we can get you an invite, and also check out the Essential Info thread for all the ........ well essential info.

Great to have both you and Simone with us.
