I'm Margali,
I'm a 49 yr old, female, disabled vet, with way to much free time on my hands. I spend a lot of that time playing MMOs. However, I have kind of a short attention span, so I game hop quite a bit. That is, I start playing a game, and if I like it, I spend crazy amounts of time playing, so much so, that after a few weeks to a few months, (usually), I burn out on it and hop to some other game. Then, after a few months, I hop back to play again. I live in Colorado, on Mountain time, (GMT -7), and am likely to be playing at any time of day.
For the past few years I've been thinking it would be nice to join a community of gamers that play many different games, so I might stay acquainted with the same friends as I hop around. I've seen the TOG tag in multiple games, and since you seem like a nice friendly bunch, I am applying for membership.
I've been a gamer since the '60s, Cutting my teeth on the old Avalon Hill board games, Tactics II, Gettysburg, Stalingrad and the like. I played on the Atari 2600, although I didn't really take to console games. I had an Amiga 500 at some point and liked the games it could play. I really fell in love with Ever Quest and that got me hooked on MMOs. I've played a virtual alphabet's worth; EQ1 and 2, AO, DAOC, SWG, EVE, WOW, WAR, CoH/V, RoM, and more. Currently I have active subs to STO, FE, WoW, and the Sony station player's package, where I dabble in EQ2, SWG, and PotBS. (enough initials?)
My play style is sort of hardcore casual; I spend tons of time online, but I don't really worry about leveling or getting the best gear, or being first at anything. I just like to relax and have fun, letting the levels and/or gear come as they do. I'm usually soloing, but like to group with friends. (Had too many bad experiences with pugs) I'm not much of a raider, they always seem too pressured. But, again, I like raiding with friends who won't mind if I want to stop and take a nice screenie from time to time. I usually enjoy crafting and player housing, and sometimes equip my avatar based on looks rather then best stats. (In the end, it's all about style!) Also, I am the Queen of Alts, so in many games I may not ever get a character to max level, but I'll have all of my character slots filled with alts.
I almost never PVP. I prefer to play with friends rather then against them. However, I would join a group of friends playing an RVR style game. Not much of an RPer, though I do try from time to time, in the end, I can't help playing myself. I don't care much for voice chats. In my mind, other gamers sound like their avatars look; It just spoils it for me when I hear them talking in their real voices. (In CoH, I was in a Super Group called The Legion of Catgirls. One day I joined them in Vent and all the male voices just ruined it for me. I mean, I knew most of the players behind the catgirls were guys, but hearing them talking in their real voices, was just to unsettling.)
That's me in a nutshell. I hope you'll look favorably upon my membership application and look forward to seeing many of you in game.
LETS ALL HAVE FUN OUT THERE!
