Hi there all
I am 38 years old, and have been gaming since the late 70's.
My first foray into gaming was with a Tempest Pong console hooked up to a portable B&W TV, as well as a number of old handheld LED games (including Pacman, Caveman, and a few Space Invaders clones).
I moved on to an Atari 2600, Commodore 64, Amiga 1000, and finally to PC gaming in the late 80's.
I have also owned SNES, Megadrive, Sega Saturn, PS2, PS3 over the years.
I still enjoy retro gaming (and own a Pong console, Atari, a few C64s and a 128D, a number of Amigas, and some older consoles). Nothing beats the original hardware!
I also love newer games, and currently play Counter Strike: Source, Battlefield: Bad Company 2, and occasionally some D&D Online. I also enjoy racing games - currently rFactor, F1 2010, Dirt 2, and Grand Prix Legends (still!).
I usually go by some variation of Wavy Gravy online - generally Wavy Gravy in CSS, and Wavy_Gravy_1972 in BF:BC2.
Offline, I like RPG's such as Dragon Age: Origins and Neverwinter Nights; and am also currently playing Mafia II (Jimmy's Vendetta DLC).
I mainly play PC games, but also have a PS3 (which mainly gets used as a media centre and for party games such as Rockband, Singstar, and Buzz).
I tend to play in the evenings after about 8.30pm, but not every night (I usually work back late a few nights a week).
I have a number of other interests as well - I scuba dive, play guitar, mountain bike, and a few other things that I don't really have time for
I would like to join up with TOG to spend some online gaming time with some like-minded people, and to chat about gaming - both old and new. Although I am not into fighting about which was better - I think current and retro games have their place and can appreciate them for what they are.
Anyway, that's a bit about me. I hope I can make the cut
