Hi there, call me gonzola. Interested in joining TOG specifically for Lord of the Rings Online, but it sounds like a great concept I might like to take advantage of in future games as well. Maybe Star Wars: The Old Republic, if it doesn't suck.

I've been playing games since my dad brought home a TTY with an acoustic coupler modem, and I played Adventure (among other things) on his office mainframe. The thing actually printed reams of paper. Didn't have a screen at all. Awesome.

I had an Odyssey ... a C-64, later an Amiga. All the classics. I played the original EQ, obsessively for a few months, but never put in the time to get to the end game stuff. Don't regret it. Have at least tried most flavors or MMORPG.

I played in an original "Quake" (QuakeWorld, I think?) clan called 311 which included id programmer John Cash. Got to kick butt with him on numerous occasions. That was probably the last game I ever felt pretty dominant in on the Internet. :)

Why do I want to join? The idea of an organization of older players appeals to me. I don't mind the younger players most of the time. But I clearly have more in common with my own age bracket. Kids (in my guild/kin no less) complaining about their parents, teachers, getting grounded, the occasional drama ... I'll generally just sit back and listen, but I could definitely live without it.

Hi and welcome to TOG. Now that you have access to the forums head on down to the LOTRO forum and pop the names of the characters that want invites into one of the invite threads for the 2 kinships we run.

I am not sure which set of servers you are playing on so if you are playing on the european servers then you want The Order of Gilthoniel; if you are playing on Turbines servers then you want The Osgiliath Guard.
