Default Application for full TOG membership

Kia Ora
I’m a 40yr old Kiwi chick who’s recently taken up full on gaming. I use to dabble back in the day when you went down to the spacies parlour put in your 20c for 5mins of game time (only 5mins because I wasn’t very good)

In my mid 20’s I went off to pursue other interests (pubs, clubs, parties Late 20s to late 30’s I went travelling and lived overseas now I’m back settled into a career as a System Analyst, living with my husband and our 0.2 cats.

Work was stressful (Project Managers, so demanding), I needed to find a hobby that took my mind off work… at that time my nephew was playing WoW so I thought I’d give it a go and I haven’t looked back since.

I have been mainly playing MMO’s, WoW, AoC and have dabbled in LOTR. What I like about MMO’s is that you aren’t just gaming you are actually meeting and mixing with like minded people…. well that is how it should be.

In the early days of WoW I use to ignore constant /fail & flaming in party chat (It was not always directed at me, like mage /fail tank! for not holding aggro, when mage is busy fire off ice bolts before tank even gets a chance to engage, then warlock joining mage to flame heals because heals let them die when they pulled and got beat up on ….go figure)

To quote someone else’s thread “I find the general population on WoW to be elitist, rude and disrespectful” immature would round that list off nicely…

Despite being in a good supportive guild I got to the point where I just couldn’t take any more temper tantrums, hissy fits, flaming and drama so I stopped playing WoW and went to AoC which I found to be much more to my liking, sure there is a bit of flaming but no where near the extent on WoW.

So why am I applying to join TOG?
Cataclysm is coming and having played it in beta I want to play it when it’s released. My old Horde guild broke up and I moved my toon’s to Alliance which I prefer to play now.

So I was talking to a gaming friend at work, I told him I wanted to go back to WoW but now my guild had disbanded I didn’t know if I could stomach trying to find another amongst all the all the ‘toy throwing tanties in their panties’ kids again.

He was a member of Thorns of Gold back in the day when he played and suggested that if I wanted to be part of a more umm level headed group to apply to TOG. It’s the next best thing to petitioning Blizzard to creating dedicated 25+ servers.

So here I am looking for like minded, level headed, friends across WoW, AoC and LOTR who want to hang out, relax, have fun and most importantly drama free gaming with a good laugh thrown in

Thanks for your time

Welcome to TOG.

If you are looking for relaxed online gaming with fellow gamers with no time or grinding commitments, check out Pirates of the Burning Sea (PotBS).

As the TOG Society Leader for PotBS, we are relaunching the division to coincide with the change to Free to Play business model.

Joining now means you get in at the ground floor of what I expect will be a fun filled active game division with lots to do.

I expect to start a new character playing group (max of 6 per group) to jointly play through the starter missions.

Initially PvE groups for missions and eventually open sea PvP once we reach the max level cap of 50 and equip ourselves with the best ships in the game.

Initially we will be focussing on a Pirate Society on Antigua (US peak playtime) server.

With a non-TOG sanctioned group playing on Roberts (European peak playtime) server as French nationals until we have enough players to establish our own economic supply chain for cost effective production of ships and consumeables for society members.

So check out this link if you want to know more about PotBS
http://www.theoldergamers.com/forum/...ml#post2958152

And post your forum name and ingame avatar name on our sign up list for the Pirate faction on Antigua (US peak playtime) once you have downloaded the game and signed up to play for free via the Sony Online Entertainment (SOE) launcher 3.

I recommend that later if you are serious about playing longer term you pay US$14.99 for a one month subscription so you can get access to a full account which does not limit you to max of two ships, two dockyard, two construction sites and two character slots and force you to pay real cash for everything ingame.

By subbing for one month you become clasified as a Premium Player so get the same privileges as a former returning player gets who doesn't currently subscribe to the monthly fee (Captain's club).

Note that it doesn't matter what time zone you are in as initially you will be levelling up via PvE missions so you will be mainly grouping with Society members, so although we are Australian based society, we have members from the US and UK playing this game, so you are likely to find someone online whenever you feel like playing some PotBS.

All the Best

Ace
Society Leader for TOG Pirates of the Burning Sea game division.
