Hi everyone,
I've been seeing TOG bouncing around and shooting me (in the back you cheaters) on BC2 for the past few weeks and I realised that I missed having some sense of community from my gaming experience.
I started gaming back in late 70's on various consoles, wrote my first game on my ZX81 and eventually started my real gaming career on the ZX Spectrum in the early 80's. My true love of gaming was born when I got a 64 and swiftly became addicted to the point where I spent much of my parents money on gadgets and games
I started MP with my friends playing Descent and Duke then started working at a Cybercafe playing more Duke then the holy grail of MP Quake.
I'm currently playing BC2 which brings back fond memories of BF1942.
I play pretty much anything except sports and adventures. My love is for RPGs, RTS and shooters having weened myself off of MMORPGs after being threatened by my wife with PC dismemberment
One of the reasons I want to join TOG is that I can't hook up online with my old gaming mates as they are scattered around the world in different time zones so I miss that sense of companionship. I've been in clans and guilds over the years and have enjoyed the social aspect and I'm hoping that I can find some like-minded people on the TOG servers who actually know how to/want to squad
I'm also hoping some old Planetsiders are here who are anticipating the sequel as much as I am!
I'm hitting the big 40 in Jan 2012, I'm a father of two little boys (1 and 3). I'm a P&P RPGer of many years (sadly forced to retire now that hardly anyone plays) and I work for Melbourne Uni for the I.T. Services department as a Business Analyst.
My goal in life is to write a game (many conceived, none designed) or a book as well as too keep gaming and hook my kids in ASAP
Cheers!
