OK, so I'm old enough to be your old(er) brother (43)

but I understand that I need some more reasons...
I first played computer games on an Apple II+. The thing had 16KB memory, IIRC. I had a flight simulator on it (all green lines) and Ultima II. Technically the TRS-80 Colour Computer (4KB RAM!) my step dad had bought before the II+ doesn't count because I had no games for it, although perhaps I managed to write a couple in Basic (I use "write" losely - I typed them in from somewhere...)
Later I was fortunate to borrow a Mac (not any Mac, "the" original Macintosh!) and there I got to play Dark Castle, which I still play from time to time in an emulator. PCs came later in my life, but I strayed from PC games when the PS/2 came out, simply because good graphics cards were too expensive and moved too quickly, but I've been back ever since discovering Team Fortress 2 - which is the reason I now want to join TOG: too many public servers full of players that sound like Justin Beaver... I tried to play through Bioshock and Borderlands, but TF2 has this magnetism of variety and fun that's hard to escape, and it's not a game that's taken too seriously... I mean, I'm in Australia, and I've played against Kevin Rudd and Julia Gillard. What can I say, I may change my name to "Mr. Rabbit" one day.
On a final funny note, my daughter would have me play TF2 only to watch me (she's 6!), though she would often select a class for me to use on respawn. Sadly for the both of us, my wife saw the Eyelander in action one night, and, well, that was that for my daughter, who now remains confined to more "junior" Steam games such as World of Goo and Machinarium, and can only hit the PC on her own to play, how shall I put it, more "educational" games...
Looking forward to joining the TOG TF2 community for now.
Thanks for reading this far!
