Hi, I'm a woman of a certain age... the age where you tend to hide from your RL friends that you spend way too much time gaming. LOL.
I first started playing Bard's Tale (anyone remember that? anyone?) on a Commodore 64 and was totally hooked from that point on. In the following years I played all the Bard's Tales, the Might & Magic's and Ultima's, etc., upgrading hardware annually or more often.
When Ultima On-line started I was excited to try it, but there was hideous lag and everyone was trying to kill me! ME!!
So I swore off MMO's for life. Then a few years later I read an article in our local newspaper by a woman whose husband had been sucked into the world of Everquest. Gamely, she tried it also and ended up not only loving it but persisting long after her husband had given up. So I tried again and
swore off life for MMO's (joking). I played Everquest for a number of years and then moved to World of Warcraft when it was released. I'm in Rift Beta and thinking that may be my next gaming home.
The MMO experience is totally enhanced by being a member of a great guild, and I've been in several good ones. As I've gotten older, however, I've wanted to be with older guildies ... good players, but more relaxed, and with mature values. That would be you!
