Hey TOG folks,
My name's Dae and I'm an older gamer.
(queue AA style "Hi Damien" response)
Perhaps not as old as some of the older gamers, but old enough that people look at me funny when I tell them I play games... yes, I'm sure you all know the look I'm talking about, the 'wtf, games are for kids' look.
I'm 28 and live on the Central Coast, NSW (about an hour north of Sydney). I've been gaming for... er... about 22 years, starting out on an old school Atari console (not the PC style... yes, slot style console). I progressed to the C64 with the tape drive, even did a bit of programming for it in ye olde days, and from there became an avid console gamer with the Sega MS2.
Got my first PC (well my older brother did), when I was about 10 and spent copious hours playing X-Wing and Outpost. First PC game I owned would probably have been Eye of the Beholder III, which I recall picking up at a market in QLD on holidays, and then being annoyed because I had to wait to play it.
Massively into RPG's, I play pen and paper D&D, and am currently running a Cyberpunk campaign with a couple of other older gamers. These days, my time seems to mostly be split (aside from work, study and 'normal commitments') between COD:BO where I tend to play on the TOG servers mostly, and WoW.
I'm looking for a community of like minded gamers, to chill with, as it's always more fun to play with others... in the words of the immortal Duke (and it looks like Forever is finally almost here... its only taken... Forever!) "I don't have time to play with myself!"
Thanks for bothering to read this rant, if you got this far, you probably need some form of counselling.
