Generally you have to add the clan tag in game yourself

What you should do is head down to the forums for the games that you play and make an introduction.

I had a quick look at it seems that Axe_Murderer the CoD2 Division Captain popped a link into your original post. Follow that and they should have some kind of sign-up process so that they know that you are entitled to wear the tag

Yes, he's right to wear tags

Spud, in game, you have to open console using ` key (top lft cornr of keyb)

and type in exactly this:

/set name ^1T^7O^1G ^7| ^.... (whatever colour you want SgtSpud in)

These are the colours COD2 uses:

^1 = red
^2 = green
^3 = yellow
^4 = blue
^5 = light blue
^6 = purple
^7 = white
^9 = grey

for example:

^1T^7O^1G ^7| ^2SgtSpud = TOG | SgtSpud
