Hello TOG!

My name is Michael and I am a gaming addict. I have been playing video games in one form or another since there were computers (yes, think back to Apple II era), C64, etc.

I have been an avid MMO fan since EQ1 and have played most MMOs that have come out since. Currently I am playing WoW (although admittedly not much anymore) and focusing mainly on Rift. I have served as member, officer, raid leader, and guild leader of some large and prominent guilds throughout my time and am now looking to join a community of like-minded people who have developed a much lower tolerance for the idiocy (read: youth) that fills the MMO world of late.

Just to round things out, on a personal note when I am not gaming I am working as a Sr. Network Engineer, I spend time with my beautiful wife and two boys, and once it warms up on the weekends you can find me racing my motorcycle at the track (licensed amateur racer).

The reason this is a "sort of" application: I (age:41) am currently playing Rift with my wife (33) and some friends (ages 28-45) that I have made through the years, some from EQ, WoW, and Aion. Since there are so few of us around on Rift (6 total I think) we are considering merging with another guild rather than trying to scratch out a guild again. Since we are, well, mostly older than your average gamer when I saw "The Older Gamers" my curiosity was piqued.

From reading your FAQ it seems like this may be an ideal place for us to make a more permanent home but since this is more than just one person applying I wanted to speak with someone about it first as we will not be separated.

So, there you go. I will be checking here as often as time allows or you can look for me in Rift on the Wolfsbane server as Thrakazog (35 war), Feistus (22 rog), or Dichotomy (teens cleric).

Doh I should mention that we are EST gamers and are online most weeknights and several times throughout the weekend. We enjoy PVE/Raiding content and a handful of us (myself included) definitely enjoy the PvP aspect of most games.

You defiantly fill the criteria for TOG membership but I'm going to hold off making you a member until you've spoke to one of the RIFT captains. Hi again!

I have spent the last few days conferring with my friends and we are ready to move forward with things: This is my official request to join TOG.

You should be seeing posts from Iamafk, Nukin, Sevvinn, Tell, and Spellreaver in the near future as I instructed them to come here and introduce themselves.

FYI we are all still currently members of our own small guild (Brute Force and Ignorance) for the sake of communication and will obviously drop as soon as you are ready to do the invitations.
