Hello and welcome to my great application for great membership

I would like to join your esteemed fellowship because I am an old geezer looking for some gaming fun with like minded folks. If you enjoy romantic walks along sunny Tasmanian beaches while discussing Lovecraft's influence on modern space opera that is a huge bonus.

My life began when I was about 6 in Poland and my dad brought from UK an Atari 65XE. I never owned the massively popular commodore64 or even the hipster ZX Spectrum. Still, I learned BASIC (only much later in life did I realise the damage this has done to my future programming career).

Back then I played mostly missile command and boulder dash (my dad now in his 60s still enjoys this game that we played together when i was 6) and river raid and probably a few others. Of course, without the "turbo" mod (which I didn't have) most games took roughly 45-60minutes to "load"

Since then and the subsequent 286, played a huge variety of games from adventure/rpg to shooters and their online progressions. Also back in Sydney I was a dungeon master for 2nd ed and later 3.0 dungeons and dragons campaigns each one of these 2 lasting 2-3 years.

Which brings me to what I am playing currently and looking for like minded fellows to party hard like it's liberation of poland from communism in 1989.

I am currently enjoying the great clone of EVE online (which I also play) called Perpetuum. I am also considering transferring my 43 guardian to elendilmir from landroval in Lord of the Rings Online. I am also playing bad company 2 since it was on sale on steam and finding it definitely brings me back to the good old days of running around with hyperblaster in quake2 in lan multiplayer.

In the near future I am looking forward to playing diablo3 and battlefield3. I do however try most games that came out and milk them for all fun ...or for too long (4 years on MUDs, 5 years in everquest, 5 years in WoW). Probably going to play The Old Republic also which is shaping up to be a decent experience to worst.

So you are probably thinking right now this guy is having fun already he doesn't need us! Not quite true. Over the last decade or so I noticed I am having less and less fun in single player games - there's something missing there and that something is playing with a good bunch of people. And from my extensive research online (mostly whirlpool forums and and a friend of mine who was a member of TOG) it is pretty clear that TOG is the best community for a distinguished gentleman attempting to fight back against the cynicism that all them young people are trying to grab these days to be popular.
