[DONE] Introduction Thread - Kr00gZ

G'day TOG!

I'd like to start by saying it's great to find a community such as this!

I'm from Australia and have made approximately 30 trips around the Sun on this fine little greeny-blue rock! And since I can remember, I have been gaming. I have many fond memories of sifting though my Dad's Public Domain catalouges to order games on 5.25" disk that would be delivered to our door as 9600 baud modems were WAY too expensive and mail was quicker!

From Digger and Jump Joe on the XT, Zork, every Apogee/id game (Dangerous Dave and Commander Keen FTW!), weirded out by Maniac Mansion and sides sore from laughing at Monkey Island, the rise of FPS, the evolution of RTS and the increasing complexity and immersion of the RPG and it's MMO corruption , and all attempted combinations in between, I am STILL gaming and STILL loving every moment of it!

My current obsessions are:

Fallout series (almost done with New Vegas although I kinda played Fallout3 and THEN went back and played Fallout, Fallout 2 and then Fallout Tactics!)

Total War: Shogun 2. Played ALL of them and great to see the modernisation of a classic!

Warhammer 40K - Dawn Of War 2. I think I spent a good chunk of my adolescence dreaming of a WH40K game and in playing every offering ended up being thoroughly disappointed at every instance. Then came Dawn Of War and all of those bad memories were wiped away!

To satisfy my FPS need I spend a lot of time in Team Fortress 2. Man, what a flat-out fun game! Loved the original. Tried out CounterStrike:Source when it came out but I was sick of CS by the end of 1999!
Battlefield: BC2 gets a run as well (I'm getting better and swear I won't kill you with the defribulator!)

I'm eagerly awaiting Skyrim (HOW GOOD WAS MORROWIND?!?!?? *has erased Oblivion from memory* Diablo 3, next installment of Starcraft, Stronghold 3 and ... well... anything really.


I'm looking forward to fondly remenicing past adventures and to sharing the hope and the eager anticipation of things to come. All while gaming-on till I DIE!
