Good Morning
My name is Don, I'm 55, born in Scotland and now Live near Toronto
Canada, was a Marine Engineer for 16 years, then came ashore as a
Power Plant Operator.
My first experience of PC games was Frogger on a Tandy, however most
of my gaming up to that point was board games with the family.
My interest turned to Graphics using Paint Shop Pro.
One day, in a moment of weakness lol, I bought my 14 y/o son the first Halo
game, and whenever he got stuck, it was Dad who had to figure out how to get past the Flood lol.
One day when I was online trying to find a way around something in Halo
when I stumbled upon Halo Racing and I found a niche for myself and
spent many a happy hour tearing up the tracks with a bunch of fine
folks.
It eventually grew old and on mass we tried GW, but that only lasted a
couple of months, until someone suggested DDO. Many a happy evening was spent with Inferus Sus, until alas I burnt out at playing it too much.
I returned to my graphics for a few months until I saw the awesome
graphics in a magazine about a game called Aion.
I joined when it was still in beta and have been playing since, however the dreaded burn out was beginning to rear it's ugly head, especially
playing nearly every night.
I still enjoy the game, but am looking for a group to play it only two
nights a week, perhaps three at the most.
I tried posting to a couple Aion dedicated web sites to see if there
might be others of like mind, however it seems there are only a few
and even then they tend to want to play more.
So I went looking and came upon TOG, and what has caught my interest is
"We understand that real life has a habit of getting in the way, and that we use games for the fun and relaxation of it all" and the fact
that we can play as much or as little as we want.
I hope to find some like minded individuals who can only be in game two
or three times a week in Aion or perhaps in some new game coming out like SWTOR or GW2, we'll see.
Appreciate the opportunity to apply to TOG and hope to find friends,
wherever they might be in the world.
Not only did I spend time at sea working, I travelled far and wide with my family from the ripe "old" age of 13 months.
Regards Don.
