*Games you are currently playing or wish to play with TOG:
I haven't looked to see what other games you may be active in. I've noted members in 'Fallen Earth' which I recently started, and had a recommend from another clan's recruiter that I might look into this community, when I started questioning them about average age of their clan membership.
*Information about yourself:
Somewhat old school gamer that started his MMO experience with beta-test of EverQuest in 1998. Became totally addicted to that one for 6 years. I currently work a 12 hour night shift (18:00-06:00,) 7 out of 14 days, so have a lot of free time for indulging my pass time of goofing off in games. Well, truth be told I actually game at work on my laptop some nights too, as there's a lot of quiet time on my job when things are running smoothly.
*Information about your gaming history (i.e. first gaming console, or pen and paper game, etc):
Wow, really need to work the brain cells here.
Started out in 1969-1970 with Avalon Hills old line of 'conflict simulation' games such as 'Midway', 'Blitzkrieg' & 'Rise and Fall of the Third Reich'(?). Eventually discovered the now defunct SPI, Inc., and fell in love with their 'Strategy & Tactics' bi-monthly, as well as their many war-games, until they went through some financial difficulties and were bought up by (I believe) GDW.
Around 1977-1978(?) I started playing D&D, and eventually AD&D, then moved on to an old RPG called 'Traveller' (from GDW.) 'Tunnels & Trolls' was a brief passing interest as well.
I was a board-gamer up until I discovered PBM gaming in the form of RSI's 'DuelMasters' and 'Hyborian Wars.' I played those off and on until I started attending University in 1990 as a CompSci major (never finished that degree as I realized it took all the fun out of PC's.) Played around in PBeM's of different types (Atlantis, Olympia, etc.) as well as MUD's and games like 'Stellar Conquest,' once I discovered the Internet. While I was participating in the 'Settlers III' beta in 1998, another tester told me of the EQ beta sign-up, and that was the end of my social life.
Since then I've played Star Wars Galaxies (pre-CU [2004] up to the NGE, then a bit of fooling around in NGE lately,) and World of Warcraft off and on since 2005. I've played around in LotRO, EQ2 and currently active in 'Age of Conan' & 'Fallen Earth.' I also follow 'DawnTide' haphazardly, and occasionally login to the open beta sever, though I'm waiting for it to be more developed before I decide to devote any large amount of time to it.
*Why you'd like to join TOG
I love to help and be active in the communities of the games I play. I'm not a babysitter though, no matter how much some parents now days allow the PC to 'do the job of child rearing' for them. Any indivdual, of any age, I'm more then happy to assist in any way, if they have the simple faculty of critical reasoning skills, and the ability to apply said. I've met a few jewels among the dross, but the overall trend in the gaming community, seems to be leaning heavily toward the immature, emotionally stunted and functionally illiterate. I'd really like to be a part of a gaming community that doesn't require the patience of Job, or the tolerance of Buddha.
*Anything else you'd like to share
My play times are fairly regular as far as hours I play, but the days vary week to week, due to the fact I work a rotating schedule. This makes if difficult for me to regularly make 'fixed day' events if they're a part of the game activities of the community. Beyond that I'm a fairly laid back, and not a real vocal person (unless of course you push my 'pedantic' button; or even worse my 'you're a SoS barbarian' button [stuck on stupid; personal acronym and inside joke with a few friends].)
