Hey all,
34 yo gamer here. I've been playing various games for most of my life -- from pen and paper D&D to old school Atari and Commodore games. Sierra games were what really got me into computer games (LSL, SQ, PQ amongst my favorites). Did a lot of gaming on BBSes back before the interwebs were around and ran a Citadel (CenCit build) BBS back in the early 90s.
Over the years, I've played Lineage, Lineage II, SWG, WoW and LOTRO pretty extensively. I've dabbled in most other MMOs and had ordered a lifetime subscription to STO which I promptly cancelled when I played the free preview weekend.
Other than that, I'm an Air Force pilot and travel quite extensively, so my in-game time can be a bit hit and miss... In fact, I'll be deployed when this game releases but will be returning home within the first couple weeks. I'm also trying to get my 11 yo daughter into gaming -- it's good for dads and daughters to have something in common.
After playing the SW:TOR Beta for the last couple of weeks, I went ahead and placed my pre-order from Amazon today -- the game's looking darn good. Historically, I've played most of my MMOs either solo or with the same guild (started as Crossbones in SWG, then morphed into Phoenix Alliance in SWG and LOTRO). I saw a post that mentioned this website on the TOR forums so I thought I'd check it out. As a father of four and a military guy, I don't have the time to keep up with the demands of the full-time gamers who expect their guildmates to be available 24/7 and don't really have time to deal with non-power players. This group seems more suited to my situation.
Anyway, see you around the boards!
