Cheerful
Smile Hello :)

Hiya there,

I arrived here by a fairly round-about way, I've been mostly a solo gamer for a long time (other than WoW where I was raiding for 4-5 years and before that puzzle pirates and before that MUDs).

I've recently become hooked on Mount & Blade - Warband multiplayer on the internode servers, although there are some lovely people on there there is also a lot of sexism/racism/trolling going on so I decided to see if I could find a mature minded group of players who might be into a range of games (some who might like to come and play warband with me, the multiplayer is really good fun, kind of like medieval counterstrike and mastering sword fighting is not easy!).

I started googling around and found PMSClan but they are mostly American and after a brief chat on their forums I don't seem to meet their requirements. After that I asked around on the Internode forums and well, here is the link, various people suggested TOG so here I am

What games are you currently play/looking to play with TOG?
  • Mount & Blade - Warband
  • Terraria
  • WoW (currently having a break)
  • Anything that seems fun, I especially like fantasy/medieval settings

What was the first machine you played games on or pen and paper game you played?

oooh hm, Atari? or C64 probably, I remember playing Sid Mir's Pirates! on the C64 at my aunts house, it had a silk map and a book with one of those old-school DRM systems, at the start of the game to unlock it you'd get asked a question from the book "In what month did the silver merchant fleet leave costa ricca?" lol.

I guess my 'golden age' of gaming was the NES & SNES, Zelda was my first RPG and then when the SNES came out with titles like Secret of Mana etc I was seriously hooked on the genre.

Nowdays I have a PS3 (but mostly use it to watch ABC iView with my kids or play DVDs) and a Wii, although most of my gaming gets done on my PC, steam is so convenient I find.

Why do you want to join TOG?

Because I'd like to find some pleasant people to play with who are respectful and not trolls.

Tell us about yourself or anything else you'd like to share.

I'm 32, I'm happily married with two wonderful girls who are 6 and 9. I write software (mostly web applications that run on Linux) for a living and have been for a decade, although six months ago I quit my job to start a little startup of my own with a friend, it's an online writing tool for authors called PangurPad. I live in the lovely Dandenong Ranges (those hills east of Melbourne) where there are trees all around and plenty of wildlife that visits at our doorstep. I'm pretty shy and don't like talking on voice much although I'm very friendly and make new friends easily, I love helping out newbies in games as well.

I hope that's enough
