[DONE] Oranjius - Not surprisingly, an application

Hi all (who read this),

The 'name' is Oranjius, but please call me OJ for short. I'm an older gamer myself (being 30 years of age) who has been having a fun time on your Battlefield 3 servers.

In fact, that's how I found out that this group existed. Generic server search and I found a mixed modes server with very nearly everything I wanted (excluding the odd team deathmatch to break up the pace.)

After a fair few hours stonking around on there the last week or 2, I thought I'd check out this site. Impressed by what I found, I decided to submit an application... which should be obvious, because that's what you're reading now =) Essentially, I've always wanted to play games with my peers as they tend to have a better (read, more intelligent) sense of humour than the larger portion of onliners I have come across. Nothing worse than your jokes being misinterpreted or just plain misunderstood.

Currently I am only playing Battlefield 3 (which is what I wish to play with other TOGs) and Skyrim on the PC, with Dark Souls on the PS3. I've come a long way from the days of getting a magazine in the post, sitting down at the C64 and laboriously typing out the code in the back to play some neat little game. Also I still have memories of playing Platoon and Star Paws that I had on cassette tape. They would take about 45 mins to load before you could start playing. Talk about incentive for marathon gaming sessions!

One day, I'd love to get back into FFXIV (have owned it since release, however the world was too empty and pointless so I shelved it.) so if perchance I can find some people to play that with, I'll have a harder time keeping up with the rest of my hobbies. FFXI certainly took a large amount of my time for the couple of years I obsessed over that.

Lastly, a few other informations about myself: I'm a shift worker so play at random times (and sometimes from work if it's dead enough on the graveyard.) Other game activities see me play D&D (tho it's not D&D, it's True20 at the moment,) play Magic The Gathering (both in paper and online) as well as paint and play with Warhammer 40k models. Otherwise, I also play the guitar (mostly blues improv) and go hunting (with most of my shooting either load development (I make my own ammunition) or pest control. Have yet to bag an edible beasty. My tracking is ok, but my stalking is rubbish, so for years I have only followed sign for hours; with no tasty result at the end.)

Oh, I use a lot of parentheses in forum posts and tend to get tl;dr responses from lazy people. I type like I talk. Rambling with asides. Sometimes I go back and edit things down (which is extremely difficult to do in a spoken conversation. Usually involves a mallet and a cover story to the ambulance officers. More trouble than it's worth. Usually.)
