Howdy!
Howdy ToG!
My name is Brent, and I'm a gamer. I am also known as Elnrik. (Or Grieg, Dethis, Birch, and many more.) I live in Denver CO.
Kahateni suggested I head over and check ToG out as a home for myself and friends in the upcoming SW:ToR MMO, and having read the FAQ and About sections, it seems like ToG would fit my playstyle quite well.
I consider myself to be pretty laid back. Beyond video games, I enjoy riding my motorcycle, playing board games and strategy games with friends (everything from Magic to Risk to Civilization), and building computer systems. My current PC is water cooled, 2 nVidia GTX 580's in SLI, i7 2600k, OC'd to a stable 4.6ghz. I love tech. I'm a Systems Administrator for a company in Denver Colorado.
Having played, been an officer in, or having lead guilds in MMO's or FPS groups, I can tell you the one thing I hate the most is DRAMA. No need to get all crazy. That's not to say I don't take my games seriously, I just see a need for getting all riled up about most things anymore. "Its a game. Act accordingly." is my motto. (I also don't care for 733t speak. I think it makes people come across as uneducated or a bit daft. Am I alone in that? I hope not... anyway...)
As far as games go, I enjoy FPS game such as Battlefield 3, as well as MMO games such as WoW and Rift. I've been playing MMO's and online FPS's since the days of early Everquest and Call of Duty (the first CoD). I've played City of Heroes, Conan, Warhammer, WoW, Rift, Planetside, and a few others I can't seem to remember. (You know what they say: The first thing to go when you get old is... uhh... uhh... I forget. Anyway... ) I've played just about every big FPS game, especially the CoD and Battlefield lines.
I am affiliated with the group Tactical Gamers for most of my FPS goings on. I don't know if other affiliations matter, but I figured I'd mention it. If ToG has some BF3 activities, I'd like to check those out too.
I am one of the founding members and officers of one of Warcraft's longest running Horde guilds on the Silver Hand server, The Demon Knights. We were started day 2 of release, and I was active there until August of this year. Since inception I was the officer responsible for the website and forum, helped with policy setting and settling disputes among members. I later ran the guild for a while, but due to WoW burn out, I stepped down.
Basically, I'm looking for a home in SW:ToR with a guild where I'm not an officer or the leader, and have no official responsibilities whatsoever. (LOL - I need a break from leading these things.) In other words, I'm looking for a place that takes it serious, but where I can also relax and go with the flow. Know what I mean?
As an aside: My hats off to all MMO/FPS guild leaders and officers - I've been there, and it can be a stressful and thankless job.
Alright... that's enough hot air from me. Thank you for reading this.
I appreciate your time and consideration of my application!
See you around!
