Hi everyone, I have been computer gaming for 20 or so years I guess. My first machine was a PC: a DX2 66 (with a whopping 200MB HD hehe) and my first games were mainly strategy and the early Ultimas RPGs. At Uni I also played (and loved) the
Diplomacy boardgame and
The Call of Cthulu 'pen and paper' games. Great fun! I have been teaching for over 30 years and, if the world will let me, I hope to retire sometime in the next few years

.
My other interests are reading / writing, movies and my patient family.
Games of the moment: I dabble in RIFT and LOTRO. I enjoy the escape into another place rather than the competetiveness of mmos. I guess I am unapolagetically a carebear, and happy just to muddle along.
Anticipated games: I will give TOR a try but am mainly looking forward to Guild Wars 2 as a possible great / little leap forward for mmo design.
Why TOG? I very much agree with the TOG ethos, especially the emphasis on respecting all playstyles. As well, I have long listened to the mmo podcast by my favourite nuns in the whole world, Sisters Francine and Julie (No Prisoners, No Mercy) who often praise TOG as a good place for weary travellers with a bent for gaming
