Hi everyone! My wife and I are looking for a cabal to join, and we heard about TOG from a conversation in the Templar channel yesterday. That led us to the forum post on FC's forum, and after reading it we're interested in joining. I'll post for both of us now and she can make an account later as needed.
What games are you currently play/looking to play with TOG?
We're looking for a cabal within The Secret World. We may be interested in other games (we both play Eve Online also and we may be interested in Guild Wars 2 when it comes out) but TSW is our focus. My in-game name is Halorn and hers is NightCrawler85.
What was the first machine you played games on or pen and paper game you played?
Ever heard of the
Fairchild Channel F? I had that and about six games, none of which I can remember. Once we had a computer at home (a Radio Shack Color Computer) I played games like
Bedlam - I liked text adventure games and kept playing them all the way through college. Her first gaming machine was the Sega and she remembers playing the Michael Jackson game when she was little!
Why do you want to join TOG?
We're looking for a mature group of folks who want to have fun within the game. We had a rather disappointing run-in with an instance group of... let's charitably call them "focused powergamers"... who had certain ideas on how to treat others. We'd prefer never to have that experience again, although the nature of MMOs mean we can only reduce the chance and never eliminate it.
We started playing TSW the day after pre-order release and we don't know anyone else within the game. We're both enthralled by the storyline and the game mechanics and we're having the most fun within an MMO in a long time... but it'd be nice to get to know people within the game.
Tell us about yourself or anything else you'd like to share.
I grew up in sunny Southern California and she grew up near the southern coast of Norway (I love her accent!) We met through Eve Online, believe it or not, and we successfully ran a 100+ member corporation in that game for a few years until I stepped down as CEO (and she as director) so I could focus on my return to university studies. We've also played through WotLK WoW but decided that the post-Cataclysm expansion experience was not for us.
