Default Membership Application (GW2)

Hello Tog

I am currently playing on Blackgate(US) under the name Kandrick and would like to apply for TOG membership.
I am already a member of a multi game community - Keepers of the Darkside (KDS), formed 2003, which was dedicated to WvW and part of the DEYS alliance (MA/RK/HB/KDS). Unfortunately the guild has decided to drop GW2 as it's official game and is instead moving to PS2 and DF:UW. As we now rarely have enough members online to form as much as a 5 man I have been given permission to seek alternate guild membership for GW2, hence the application. I do have the option to join our allied guilds however they only do WvW and I like to play all aspects of a game and it looks like TOG may be a good fit.

Being from the UK I am looking to join whichever server has more active EU members playing in my timezone. I am assuming that would be Desolation (EU). If there are a lot covering off peak on Yaks Bend (US) then I have no problem transferring there instead.

So that said ;
Games I wish to play with TOG - GW2
Game I first played - AD&D on paper.
Why I want to join TOG - Being 45yrs young I am looking for a guild with mature members to enjoy GW2 with in my downtime.
Additional Information - Married, 3 sons, work, game. From the UK.

I do have questions of my own if that is acceptable.
- Is there a main focus in GW2 (SPvP/W3/PvE) ?
- How many (active) members on Desolation ?
- Where would I find most active EU TOG players - Desolation or Yaks Bend ?
- Are there scheduled events ?
- Beer or Cookies ?

Thank you for considering my application,

Hey and welcome to TOG.

We don't really have a main focus, other than playing the game. There are people interested in all aspects of the game, so we're pretty generalist. We're currently in the process of trying to figure out our active numbers, since GW2 doesn't have very good guild management tools, unfortunately, but at least check EU was split about 50/50 across the two servers.

There are events in the EU timeslots for both servers, and you can check that out in the Events subforum in our GW2 forum. Most of the events are in the forms of dungeon runs, it seems, but we gathered up for the Lost Shores events and had a great time on TeamSpeak, for example, and have done similar things for the Halloween events. Other than that, anyone is free to organize events, so if you see something missing, you could always step up and run it yourself.

Perhaps a good start would be to check the Events forum and see if there's anything interesting there in your timezone and try that server first. While there is a cooldown of a week, the transfers are still free, so if you feel that the server you chose is too quiet, try the other. Both Desolation and Yak's Bend EU are in the same guild, so we're always chatting with each other anyway.
GW2 : EU Desolation Server : Hexadecimatrix, Apple Pearbottom, A Leaf In The Night,
Incandice Burns, Aase Gustavsdottr, Armand Cogswell, Moira Millemort, Norman Charrzkopf
Blizzard battle tag: McMuttons#2926, ArenaNet GW2 tag: McMuttons.5106
I like to run. Run with me!
