Gruchak's Introduction
Hello to the TOG community. I started out with an Atari, pretending (to my wife) that I was really interested in its word processing capabilities when, in fact, I couldn't wait to get my hands on all the available games. One of the first games I got was Cadaver by the Bitmap Brothers and I was totally hooked. I got a few more of theirs...Magic Pockets, Gods, and a few more.
But the Atari was limited in all kinds of ways and I really did need to start using a word processor so I got a Mac...stupid, I know, as there were hardly any games for the Mac. After a few years of feeling like the poor relation, I switched to PC and haven't looked back.
I mostly enjoy RPGs (but shooters as well) and have spent many, many hours with the major ones. I have also spent a lot of hours with MMOs: WoW, Aion, Rift, LOTRO.
I am looking forward to the Elder Scrolls Online and hope to get into the beta for that. I've been in the first beta for Neverwinter and thoroughly enjoyed that so am looking forward to its release. There are also many free MMOs coming out this year: Firefall, Wildstar, Age of Wushu, Blade and Soul.
Currently, I am playing Tera Online (just gone F2P) and the combat is excellent. So, I was wondering if there were any TOG guilds in Tera and if any of the upcoming MMOs (haven't listed them all) were on the TOG radar? I may also get into DayZ when it goes standalone. Now that is a game where a few friends would be VERY handy.
I am based in Indianapolis so am on Eastern time and usually game from 8-10ish in the evening. Also weekends of course.
I was very interested to learn about TOG...didn't know you existed. I was a member of Lethal Old Farts (LOF) many years ago in the heyday of Quake 2 multiplayer.
Anyway, looking forward to meeting some of you online if at all possible.
