Hopefully I have managed to get all this done so far...I'll recheck to make sure.
I'm requesting membership via World of Warcraft/Defias Brotherhood EU server in order to join a guild in World of Warcraft whose members impressed me. This guild is The Orphans Grim. (That and I liked the name from the start.)
(In truth, I have characters on several servers and have played about 1 1/2 years - I have high level non-PvP alliance characters but fancied a change to Horde/PvP for something entirely different. )
In the past few years I've played an Intaki on Eve - a game I quite liked but missed the physicality of 'on your feet' games like Warcraft (running, speaking, emoting), but I did leave before what I heard were some major changes made to Eve. Before that I played Dark Age of Camelot for some time as a Paladin and Hunter, and before THAT, I played a game called Realm.....before that...(cringing..)..ah yes, there was Mechwarrior, which I liked more than Doom (which I thought was abysmal but then to be fair that was ages ago).
Real life frustrates and bores me sometimes right now..its not a 'my life' thing so much as what I see out there happening. RP allows me to take it out by killing people who act like turnips or talk in textspeak too much (rogue), mine and make money to my heart's content while running around as a tall, lithe, cat-riding maniac (hunter). (Incidentally, my alliance elf hunter takes great delight in helping horde characters out at random, which is why I never reveal what server she's on or who she is....lol...this is my revenge on the kiddies of Channel Ironforge). As soon as we get Blood Elves, I'll be hunting there too if they make that class available to us.
RP - aaah - once you get past the banality of a lot of Barrens chat, you get to say things like "take my leave of you" and "I shall make him taste this blade!!" which, quite frankly, is much more fun than "check ya later" or "could I have some sparkling water, please?". Likewise being good with swords.....that'd be nice on those rough days at work. Methinks I was born in the wrong time, but I haven't found the right one, so Azeroth will have to do.
Other than that, I'm in the UK, female, well-educated and own my own small business. I like Nine Inch Nails, yelling at the evening news, "Monkey Dust", red wine, sushi and books by Ian Irvine, Terry Pratchett and Jane Austen. I think as far as personal stuff goes, I'll leave it there for now, that's a start.
