Hello, I'm new
Formal Stuff
I'm 37 years old. I have read the FAQ and AUP, I concur, agree and am happy with the contents of both.
Informal Stuff
Recently, I started playing Eve online. A coworker told me about the 14 day trial, so I signed up. When I started to get serious about the game, he suggested I join TOG. So, here I am. (I don't know his TOG UID, so I can't "drop names" right now.) I'm mostly interested in playing Eve with other TOG members. My Eve character's name is Phym Fatale.
My gaming history:
I started playing MMOs several years ago when Star Wars Galaxies came out. I enjoyed the crafting system and the way the game encouraged a sense of community through player housing, guild houses, and player cities. It was very rewarding to help build a guild and city from scratch in SWG. (I was the guild's architect.)
When World of Warcraft came out, I started playing that. It is a lot of fun, the combat system is far more engaging than SWG's was.
However, when I started playing WOW, I missed the sense of community I got from SWG. Although, WOW has guilds, you may never see some of the other members in game. In SWG, I could go to my in game house and see other guild members who lived next door. This gave me a sense of community that WOW doesn't offer.
From what I've seen of Eve online, it offers a mixture of elements that I enjoyed in WOW and SWG. I'm looking forward to learning more about the game.
