Hey guys, I just had a question regarding your guild and if possable app. I am a casual WoW player and was looking through some forums when I came acrost you thread and was very interested in it so I decided to stop by and give it a shot. Name is Dave and I have been playing games since roughly N64 and a little super nintendo before that. I read that the minimum age required to join your guild is 25 however I was curious if your guild was about playing with mature people who have similar views and enjoy playing together so this age requirement was set figuring that one under this age most likely would not fit the profile, or if you really did not want someone under this age for other unmentioned reasons. I ask this because I am far from your requirement, 17, however I am pretty fed up with playing with anyone even close to my age for the simple fact I dont get along with them. I currently and working to pay for school which consists of high school and college both and I dont have time to play games like I used to however I enjoy logging on for a few hours a night to get relax. However when you log on and have to hear someone screaming in vent "OWNED BITCH!" "****ING NOOBS!" etc. over and over again, yeah it kinda takes the fun out of the whole game. Im just looking for some cool guys who have maybe a similar schedule who wont ridicule someone who cant log on here or there but can just sit back and have fun playing. I have not fully read over your required sections to be honest for the simple fact that this is not my application, it is more a question and an introduction I suppose. Well if you guys think that giving me a shot for whatever amount of time is pushing it too far, then thats cool good luck to you, I figured I might as well try though. It's not the first time we have received such a request - but sadly, we do have a no exceptions policy on our age requirement. Even though we know we have people in our community over 25 who are perhaps 'less suitable' than some of those who are not yet of that age, this entry requirement is one of the few things we have that distinguishes our gaming community from many others.

The administrators (including myself) have often discussed relaxing the entry rules for cases such as yours, but we believe that if we do it once, it will create many difficult problems for us. We will then have to assess many applications to try and make some determination of the maturity of the poster - something that is far too subjective, very difficult to be consistent in, and ultimately liable to upset some people.

So I'm very sorry to have to say no. There seems little doubt from your post that you would be a welcome addition to the community - we hope you'll consider us when you turn 25 if you have not already found an online gaming community to settle in by then. Even if you have, I recommend and hope you revisit TOG; we are an ever-growing community and as such can offer many different things to different gamers.

My last comment, as you are an MMO player: many
TOG members don't mind grouping up frequently to game with people outside our membership - you are welcome to continue to use our public forums (the MMORPG one, for instance) to liase with the people you have developed ties with - I'm sure they would continue to enjoy your company in-game, even if communications are restricted by the rules that have been established over who can join our channels/guilds/outfits, etc.
