New EVE Player - Katrina Kirellii - See - I made it finally!

Why hello all. It took me a while to arrive, but I am here now.

I am over 25, have read the AUP, and the TOG FAQ.

I am not overly excited about learning new things such as this new fangled PHP site, but I might get over it.

Where to start...

I was playing Guild Wars when someone asked me to join TOG and perhaps try EVE. This was last fall. Now I know I should remember, but frankly I forgot the exact person. I have since started playing EVE and am self sufficient. So, having proven I don't need anything I am now ready to ask - where do I go from here? I am ready to plug into the TOG EVE network and develop standings and/or other relationships in either corp or player level.
Since EVE allows three characters, I have three. They are all my main no matter what people say about disposables. Read into this - don't try to tell me different or I may have to chastise you. I have decided to specialize them. I have:

Del Phineas : Remote Marketing and Corporation Skills: CEO of Durandal Strauss Company [DURA] - flyer at DSC Flyer

Katrina Kirellii : Freelancer

Man ofSteel : Science/Research and Manufacturing

Del is Deteis, and Kat and Man ofSteel are Civire (sp?)

Anyhow, we are Caldari and you will have to deal with that. If your players are not Caldari friendly, I suppose this will be a brief relationship as I roleplay. If anyone wants to join my corp, they are welcome as I just provide a shell and the corp framework. All the activities within are up for grabs. The main thing is that the corp is directed by the shareholders who invest in the Durandal Strauss "Own the Man" Investment Fund. This means that they vote on how the company does it's business. Kinda funny and unique and a total lark in many ways. Just seeing where a publicly owned Caldari company will go as an organization is worth the seeing I feel.

So, anyhow, this is my intro. Those in the game now know how to contact me. I spend most of my time logged in as Katrina as that is the funnest of the three to play live. I check mail regularly on Del Phineas and Katrina Kirellii.

I read and reread your message looking for some secret meaning and only am confused by two parts. What is:

Being old and a gamer, I have played many games of course - but my only MMORPGs have been the one I helped in the client development as a hobby, Guild Wars, and Eve.

Sadly, due to time, I only have so much energy to spread around. So I hope to concentrate within the playing medium of choice. This year it is Eve, last year it was Guild Wars, and prior to that Starshiptraders/The Last Resort.

Assuming that Eve finally meets my gaming demands of Price, Performance, Scalability, and Enjoyment - I will concentrate here this year at least. Since Eve is the first Space (possible RPG) with such large boundaries and complicated logic branches I have found worthy of my time, I think it might do nicely. I try to give anything a year to settle in my mind.

Couple things really quick...first off, to be in TOG we make no requirments other then the 3 things you ahve already agreed too. People are allowed to do whatever they want as long as they abide by the AUP. We have a corporation, and a couple of guilds in both EVE and GW, of which you are welcome to join, or you are welcome to maintain your own organisations if that is how you wish to play Our EVE corp isn't friendly or unfriendly to races by nature, all are welcome and we have all races in the corp. You are welcome to bring your corps under the TOG banner as long as every member abides by and joins TOG, meeting our requirements. Though bringing them in is NOT a requirement.

Anyhow, we can discuss all that later in more detail if needed.

Undoubtedly you want to get started and the best place to start is to visit the main forum for the game in which you are interested, have a read of the sticky posts and other threads that catch your attention.
