Default Hiya everyone!

I have read and agree to the UA... whatever, and the FAQ.

I was given a referal to you. "Google them" was the exact wording. I'm a gamer, currently addicted to Eve-online. I'm a full-time student, again at 37. I live in Tempe, AZ and right now I'm on Spring Break.

My Eve character is in STI (Caldari noobcorp) where I want to stay. But it would be nice to experience some of the other aspects of Eve, like gang mining operations, fleet battles and some 0.0 ratting. It would also be nice to join a chat that isn't a bunch of alts bragging about their Main's Corp. That's where I heard you all might come in. I know it sounds like the obvious answer is to leave STI, but there's a lot of benefit to being in noobcorp that I'm not ready to give up yet. I'm also stubborn.

Anyway, thanks for reading me. Comments/suggestions are welcome. My character's name is Tempus Fugitive. Feel free to Eve mail or convo me. I guess that means I'll have to reduce the charge back down to 100, but maybe it will be worth it.

Thanks for the welcome. I forgot to tell a little about my game history. I started playing real MMORPGs in 2002 with Dark Age of Camelot. Before that the only online gaming I had done was Diablo and Diablo 2. But even before that I was playing computer games for a pretty long time. I had a trs-80 (16k!) and a ColecoVision in the early 80s and an Amiga in the late 80s. In the early 90s I was hooked on email Diplomacy and Civilization, as well as all the other real-time and turn based strategy games that popped up and went away. I didn't game much in the late 90s, but then again I was drunk most of the time, so it didn't matter. Needless to say I was a little surprised when I came back at how much internet technology had progressed from email Diplomacy.

I've always loved Science Fiction games, so I fell in love with Eve within minutes of first playing. I use to "play" Traveller when I was a kid, meaning I had all the books and tables and killed thousands of trees with all the maps and starship designs I made. Then I got Stryker and killed more trees designing land vehicles. I had a game on my Amiga that was very similar to Eve in that you had a ship and you went around trading and fighting pirates. I loved that game but couldn't tell you the name. I also played Alpha Centauri and Masters of Orion but didn't enjoy them much, as I felt they were poor imitations of Civilization with Sci-Fi labels.

I've been playing Eve for a little over a month now. I'm on my second character and I just topped a million skill points the other day. I really enjoy every aspect of Eve I've come across, but as you may have gathered I'm a strategy sort of person, so I think I enjoy the Industry/Trade part the most. It doesn't mean I don't want to participate in player vs player combat, it just means I don't want to be locked into that role.

I hope to get to know you all better. I haven't checked to see if I can access the Eve forum yet, but I'll go do that now. Thanks again!

Oh, one more thing. I stopped playing DAoC about a year ago. I've been playing City of Heroes since and still have an active account. Since I started playing Eve I only play CoH two nights a week in regular groups (on Infinity). If those fall apart I'll cancel the account.
