Default Request for invite

I have read the AUP and main FAQ and agree to your terms. I am definitely over 25 as I will be 38 in a few months. My gaming nickname in nearly everything I play is Morda or Mordah although I frequently use BigJake007 for first person shooters just because I like The Duke. Morda was just a name randomly generated by Star Wars Galaxies, but I like it and now use it as often as I can because it kinda fits in fantasy and sci fi alike and is just unusual enough that it isn't usually taken when I make a character. So if you see a char named Morda in a game there's a good chance its me.

My first videogame system was an Atari 2600 and from there I moved on to Commodore 64 and eventually PC's. I dumped more quarters into standup videogames like Tron, Galaga and Popeye than I could ever count. I purposely overlooked the Nintendo craze time period (sideshooters? no thanks!) in favor of more sophisticated games such as Red Storm Rising, Sword of the Samurai and Covert Action. Consoles have grown up though and I now have an XBox, Gamecube and Nintendo DS. I am even contemplating a 360 or a PS3 for future acquisition, but I haven't decided which I would prefer and will definitely just have them in the back of my mind.

I play lots and lots of games, but right now I am most active in WoW with characters of every type on several servers. I have recently developed an itch for FPS games, but haven't played enough to know what I like. WoW's weakness for me is the too young to be believed crowd. I have been in numerous guilds and still get the creeps whenever they play that "how old is everyone here" game. I listen to the endless string of 13 and 14 year olds ooh and ahh over the "oldtimer" who is 22 and just bite my tongue. I even left a guild and transferred my lvl 60 pally from the server when I read the blog of the guild master. I didn't know for sure was a teen, but when I read his blog he had all this stuff in there about how much he hated his Dad and wanted to murder him.....yikes. It totally creeped me out and I wanted to get as far away from that as possible. I am hoping to finally meet some people like myself who are mature and sophisticated, but appreciate the unparalleled escapism that I find in videogames and escape the endless guildchats full of "I hope Algebra isn't too hard next year."

Hoping to join some folks in WoW and maybe some first person shooters. I play Americas Army, but I also have Call of Duty and have been eyeballing Battlefield 2. I recently left Star Wars Galaxies due to the big changes (sniffle) and so occasionally you may hear me cry and moan about that game like its a long lost lover, but I doubt I will ever return to be honest. I haven't hooked my Xbox to the live system yet, but if there are enough good people here that play that I most certainly would consider it as well.

Anyway, how about it?

Nice intro. pretty much sums up most of us.
hopefully you have a toon on one of our servers. (Listed in the World of Warcraft F&Q’s Sticky) check it out once you’re admitted. If you don’t and want to re-roll (because most of them are now locked) we have a few fledgling guilds on:

US Runetotem (Alliance/Horde)
US Ner Zhul, (Alliance)
US Burning Blade (Alliance)
Oceania Frostmourne (PVP Horde)
US Emerald Dream (RP/PvP Alliance)

Just /join TOG and give a spam someone should ‘’hear’’ you in text.

Unfortunately it looks like the only server you guys are on where I have a character is Emerald Dream...and mines Horde there....so I guess I will have to start over somewhere yet again so if you have any needs or suggestions feel free to throw em at me.

I have a 60 Pally and a 30 Priest on Staghelm, a 40 Warlock and a 20 Mage on Ursin and a 30 Orc Warrior on Emerald Dream plus a scattered few elsewhere. I don't mind starting over though if its a good group. WoW can be fun with the right group, but with the wrong one....well...not so much.

I guess my main servers are Staghelm and Ursin, but I don't feel overly attached to my characters in WoW like I have in other MMO's for some reason so Im not really scared to start another. Besides, you can level to 50 in a few weeks tops and the best part of WoW in my opinion is the missions so no biggie...especially if you can get a few folks to help you over those occasional rough patches.

Guess I will just wait and see where the most active groups are and decide where to make a new character. What is the most active server by the way? And are there any specific needs? As long as I am making a new toon I may as well make something useful or at least not make something that you have too many of. I was thinking about making a Warrior as that is about the only class I never really played, but Im not sold on any one of them to be honest. I have played just about everything and the only one I really disliked was Shaman...and I can't even really say why except that I just didn't enjoy the whole totem slinging routine and earth magic hullaballoo. Beyond that I enjoyed Priest, Mage and Warlock about the best I think.

You were at Tinker huh? Sorry...lol. I say that, but I was in the Marines and I went to a heck of a lot of dungpits that made Tinker look like Heaven.

UT2k4 eh? Never tried it, but I spent a little over a decade in the Marines so I have a real affection for small unit tactics...hence my occasional olbsession with FPS. I'm pretty diverse in my interests too though so I will probably split my time up in a few places.
