YAA (yet another application)
OK, so I'm guessing the blog associated with the SMH did wonders for membership.
To cover the formalities I'm over 25, have read the AUP and FAQ and accept all of them (except for the over 25 bit, I'm working on that.....). As an over 25 type I'm looking for some sensible online gaming, preferably in the roleplaying type area. I've read a bit about DDO and it sounds interesting. Combine that with the SMH blog and TOG seems like an ideal place to start asking questions about value for money, experiences, the "human" side of the equation that the blurb won't cover. I'm based in Sydney although work (management consultant - I'm not really evil, promise) tends to take me away on a frequent basis. On a slightly more positive note the day job paid me enough to buy Napoleons in Sydney when it was up for sale a couple of years back. The longer term plan is to work there regularly, that's a fair way off given that I: a) have a mortgage b) like to eat and Napoleons doesn't cover either of those (yet) In terms of gaming experience I still have an original set of Chainmail and most of the really early DnD stuff. Currently I'm involved with a 3.5 campaign on Tuesday nights every second week (we have also run HARP and a few other systems but we seem to come back to DnD). I tend to play PC games most evenings (insomniac) as they help me "wind down" from the day job so I am reasonably flexible with times. I think that pretty much covers the requirements, I'm looking forward to chatting and hopefully gaming with some of you in the not too distant future. Rob |
