G'Day.
I'm one of YaMumsFatBum's Sydney mates, cajoled and encouraged to sign my gaming life away to the mighty TOG! I've read the FAQ and the AUP, and they seem pretty together - an oasis of sanity! - I'm really looking for some PC real time strategy players with a bit of maturity. I'm 38, got into gaming in late high school and tried to write a game based on Alien on the MC-10, in uni I discovered the amazing world of the Comodore 64, upgraded to the Amiga and was completely hooked by the variety and interesting games in this amazing new medium. I remember when Electronic Arts was small and really cool, Westwood had the best 1st person RPG's, Sierra was a small "mom'n'pop" company, when DICE was writing some kickarse pinball simulations, when Populous, Lemmings, SimCity and Civilization weren't sequels... Alas, the Amiga, like the C64 and many others before it, died out, so I eventually moved to the PC, discovered 3D shooters and RTS and never looked back.
I have my own RTS themed website (
http://www.rakrent.com/). I'm (trying) to play a fair bit of Dawn of War or Homeworld 2, but also dabble in a little Startopia, Total Annihilation (hanging out for Supreme Commander!) I occasionally dabble in BF2 and the shooters, but I'm really after a good circle of strategy gamers from my generation. My time can be a bit variable at times, but hey, I'm open to all kinds of new gaming experiences!
Please clock me with the TOG stick!
