G'day TOG,
I recently found the GameArena message boards for Battlefield 2 and saw a video posted by a "TOG" member of some gameplay that had me laughing like a teenager again!
So I had a good look at the TOG website and liked the attitude of your members. I'd like to be part of a community of mature-minded gamers who don't take themselves too seriously and like to have serious fun! (I'm actually surprised I haven't learnt of your community earlier).
I think I would feel right at home at TOG and would like to apply to be a member.
I have read the AUP and FAQ and have no problems with them.
I am 33 years old. My name is Mike and I usually play online as "SonnyJim" or "SonnyJimmy" I generally play in the evening after work and different times on the weekends.
I live in Nelson Bay NSW, about an hour north of Newcastle. It's a popular holiday spot until you live here, then all you do is whinge about the tourists taking your spot on the beach
I'm currently addicted to Battlefield 2, but also like some games on Steam like DoD and just recently Red Orchestra OST. I am always looking for servers with an emphasis on "teamplay" because I really enjoy playing as part of a squad. I really don't have that much fun when everyone goes it alone and constantly just wants to get the highest frag count so they can say "I win!" hehe.
My gaming history ... how long is a post supposed to be?! hehe
I've played computer / console games since I was about 10 years old and have never really stopped since. Truthfully, single player games have their place but I have never had as much fun with computer games than when I have played them online with other people. It just never gets boring.
I played "Duke Nukem" via direct connection in the late 80's ...Warcraft & Red Alert on 56K dialup in the 90's ... several online RPG's I can't remember ... Quake LAN games ... and then Counterstrike (before it got complicated), Day of Defeat (love this game), Call of Duty series etc.
Anyway I'm sure that's more than enough info.
I'd really like to get involved with some TOG'ers who play BF2 and when more people jump on board, Red Orchestra too ... it's a challenge to shoot without crosshairs
Thanks for the reading, hopefully you'll let me join.
Mike.
