Greetings,

I stumbled upon this site, quite by mistake and thought to myself: "Now there's a community I should have found earlier". So, without further ado, here is a little bit about me, and why I'd be interested in joining. I hope you'll consider. *smiles*

Age: 37
Status: Single mother of two sons (8 & 14)
Location: Helsinki, Finland
Profession: Game artist working at Digital Chocolate
Favourite game genre: MMOGs, and preferably MMORPGs since I enjoy casual roleplay
Currently engrossed in: Second Life
Gaming presence on the net:
- Andrea's Ultima Online
- Andrea's Dark age of Camelot
- Andrea's Anarchy Online
- Folques & Ferocia (WoW journal)
- Sex in Videogames panelist
- 1up's "30+ Single Gamers" club creator/modifier
- Orkut community creator/modifier of several gaming communities

Motivation for joining TOG: Because after 15 years of gaming with kids, adults would be nice for a change. No but seriously - although there are many youngsters out there who are much more mature than those twice their age, they lack the life experience. And only that experience can enable true understanding of both shared trials and tribulations in daily life, as well as a richer roleplaying experience.

Okey dokey. I've read and accepted the rules of the AUP and the guidelines. All standard stuff. The FAQ has also been read through and a few comments on that:

"TOG is for gamers who (regretfully) can't go out boozing every weekend, because we have partners, and are left at our PC's playing games after a quiet dinner or putting the kids to bed"

Heyyy... don't forget us single moms and dads who in addition to not being able to go out boozing every weekend - can't even go out boozing at all since we don't have a partner to stay home with the kids. Not all old people /are in/can be/want to be/ a relationship. Hrmph!

In MMORPG games, TOG will usually form at least one Guild/Player Association/Outfit

I'm not a guild kinda lass. I usually like to scout around in MMORPGs on my own or else with a good friend/in game lover. I hope one can be a TOG member and chat here even if they don't feel like joining TOG clans/guilds? But mind you, once I get to know you people, who knows? I might just become a guild kinda lassie - I mean - up till now it's been mostly really young people I've been dealing with when trying out guilds. And I'm sure that with a mature crowd, it could be very different.

I have a good feeling about this place and am amazed at just how many applications have been flooding in over the mere day since I applied myself. *boggles* Anyone know the total amount of members?
